Learning lessons from recent Australian bushfire seasons

After the overwhelming success of the 2019 Lessons Management Forum, AFAC and AIDR are excited to announce a free Lessons Management webinar series in 2020.

Our first webinar brings together Australia's two Inspectors-General of Emergency Management to share their experiences on reviewing the most recent bushfire events and comparing them with previous reviews, including challenges experienced with the lessons process.

Tune in to hear from our experienced speakers followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Guest Speakers:

Alistair Dawson, Inspector-General Emergency Management, Queensland

Alistair was appointed Queensland’s new Inspector-General Emergency Management in February 2020. He has a keen passion for disaster management, working with our key partners to drive continuous improvement in Queensland’s disaster preparedness, planning, response and recovery.

Tony Pearce, Inspector-General for Emergency Management, Victoria

Tony was appointed Victoria’s first Inspector-General for Emergency Management in July 2014. An independent statutory appointment, Tony provides assurance to government and the community regarding Victoria’s emergency management arrangements, and supports the state’s emergency management sector to learn, improve, and deliver positive outcomes for Victorians.
