Disaster resilience is at the heart of maintaining our way of life, our communities and our environment for future generations. In recent years, the frequency and intensity of natural disasters have been increasing - with predictions that this trend will continue. We are also at risk of man-made disasters and the emergence of epidemics of infectious diseases.

Disaster resilience must be more than a concept or theory - it needs to be the way we approach our future; for ourselves, our families, our communities and the country in which we live.
