AIDR will host its fifth Handbook Showcase Webinar to launch and showcase the highly anticipated Disaster Resilience Education for Young People Handbook.

AIDR’s new Disaster Resilience Education or Young People Handbook presents the principles, approaches and core elements of effective disaster resilience education for young people. The purpose of the handbook is to provide guidance for those seeking to engage young people in learning and action for disaster risk reduction and resilience. Through participation and education, young people can act as agents of change noting that responsibility for disaster resilience is shared, and appropriate disaster resilience education takes place in the context of broader strategic policy and action.

Tune in to this free 60-minute webinar to hear from leading Australian experts as they unpack the principles and practice of disaster resilience education for young people.

Guest speakers:

Neil Dufty, Molino Stewart and writer of handbook

Andrea Baldwin, Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health

Lesley King, Tasmania Fire Service

Moderator:

Amanda Leck, Executive Director AIDR
