EOI Content Writer – Major Incidents Report 2024-25
The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) is seeking expressions of interest from professionals with expertise in project management, research, and content writing to support the development of the Major Incidents Report 2024-25.
The Major Incidents Report provides an annual record of those incidents that the emergency management sector views as significant from a national perspective. It is commissioned by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and published by AIDR.
The Major Incidents Report is well received and used across the sector for a range of research, educational, and policy development practices. It is the only nationally based record of incidents that have impacted Australia across the 12-month period.
The content writer should have experience and expertise in the broader disaster and/or emergency management sector. The selected professional will:
- work with AIDR and agencies nationally and in states and territories to finalise incidents for inclusion, and identify case studies for development
- work with agencies to develop incident summaries
- work with agencies to develop case studies of significant incidents that have a lessons identified element
- compile a draft report and a final report.
This year's report will follow the format of reports from the previous two years.
Work on the report will commence in mid-May and be completed by mid-August 2025. Throughout the process you will meet with the AIDR team who will provide guidance and support where needed.
