Possibility Lab recovery community of practice hosts first monthly catch up

AIDR was pleased to support the first session of Possibility Lab: a community of practice for disaster recovery practitioners in late July.

Developed in partnership with The Social Recovery Reference Group, Australian Red Cross, Resilience NSW and Bushfire Recovery Victoria, the Possibility Lab is a targeted initiative supporting recovery workers across QLD, NSW, Vic, Tas and SA who have been appointed into community recovery roles in the wake of Black Summer.

The first session, which took place via Zoom, enabled the group to meet for the first time, start building connections, and explore shared experiences in their recent disaster recovery work. The community of practice will meet monthly featuring a presentation or discussion around a central theme, and use break out rooms to connect with other members in a small group setting.

Possibility Lab is hosted by Louise Mitchell, National Consultant Disaster Recovery from the Social Recovery Reference Group. The facilitation team also includes David Newell, Peter Piggott and Samuel Beattie from Resilience NSW.
